Identifying and Cooking with Weeds

Learn how to identify common backyard weeds such as wild brassicas, mallow, dandelion and purslane using Sarah Aylott's seasonal identification guide. After identifying and foraging for different weeds around the Canberra Environment Centre, you’ll get a chance to use these weeds as the star ingredient in dishes such as a weedy gnocchi, wild stir fry and wild herb pesto. The workshop will conclude with a shared meal.

Meet at the Hawdon St entrance to Dickson Wetlands. This workshop will be held outside so please remember to dress appropriately.
