Making Sauerkraut

Got a sad cabbage lying around the bottom of your crisper? Interested in simple and cheap ways of promoting good gut health?

Sauerkraut is a distinctively sour side dish of Eastern European and Germanic origin, consisting of shredded cabbage that has been fermented using the lacto-fermentation process. Nutritionist and gut health enthusiast Jane McIntyre will be discuss the lacto-fermentation process, a centuries old method of preserving food that happens to be good for you too. Jane will explain some of the benefits of lactobacillus and other probiotics to human health. You’ll also get to watch and participate in a live demonstration of the sauerkraut process and sample some of Jane's home-made sauerkraut.
