We are a community bike workshop, not a full service shop. We can assist you to service your own bike yourself, even if you have no prior experience. However, we don’t offer drop-off and pick-up bike servicing. Our aim is to give you long-term skills to repair your own bike, from changing a tyre, to giving your bike a complete overhaul.
Unfortunately, we can’t assist you with e-bike repairs.

Bike Kitchen is open from 3-6 pm every Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday. This is the dedicated time to bring in your bike for help with repairs and servicing. At other times of the week, we’re busy with other activities and can’t assist you with repairs.
We have a 24/7 public access bike repair station and pump located outside our shop that you can use at any time.
-
Bike Kitchen is a free community resource. We give you access to the workshop & tools, and have an experienced mechanic on hand for help and advice. If you’re after a bike service, come along to Bike Kitchen and we’ll help you to do it yourself. From beginners to advanced, all skill levels are catered to. Drops-ins welcome, no need to book.

No you can’t. You must take your bike with you when you leave, even if you ar coming back the next day to finish repairs. Any bike left the Recyclery will be treated as a donation.
-
We are here to help you, but be aware that we have limited time and resources and have a lot to do. Please do not ask staff or volunteers to help fix your bike outside of designated hours. Be respectful of staff & volunteers and their time. Opening hours and activity times are listed on our website.

Kids are welcome at The Recyclery if they are accompanied by a supervising adult. Minors aged 15+ can attend workshops unaccompanied once a permission form has been filled out by a parent or guardian.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and gratefully accept donations. We don’t buy, exchange or accept trade-ins on bikes or parts.
-
We appreciate quality bikes and parts that are in good usable condition. Bikes needing minor repairs are accepted, but severely damaged or low quality bikes and parts are not.
We don’t accept helmets, cycling shoes, child seats, trailers, scooters, or car accessories (including car mounted bike racks).
If you are unsure if we will accept your item, please send us a picture via email or text.

We do accept donations of e-bikes, however the condition and quality requirements are more stringent than with regular bikes. E-bikes must be in excellent condition and be no more than 7 years old. E-bikes with damaged or missing batteries or keys will not be accepted. We don’t accept e-scooters or converted e-bikes.
