Learn about foraging edible greens on this springtime walk.
Join avid forager and foodie Susan Hutchinson on a guided walk to the south of the Jerrabombera wetlands area (near the Kingston Foreshore) to learn about identifying, selecting and using wide selection of wild growing edible greens.
The greens include weeds that grow readily across Canberra and will likely grow in your own backyard, nature strip or local park. We will provide you with some sample recipes, and preparation examples for you to incorporate them as a tasty addition to your diet, with no food miles and no environmental cost.
The knowledge will give a new spin to any foray you may have outdoors, like owning a new pair of glasses, and is an empowering way to see how even untended earth can provided you with nourishment.
You will learn about foraging safety, plant identification, some basic equipment and literature for ongoing reading.
