Funding approved for new bike repair program

The Canberra Environment Centre and The Recyclery are thrilled to announce that we’ve been successful in applying for a Community Zero Emissions Grant!

Our new ‘Community Bike Care & Repair Program’ will train volunteers in confidently repairing bikes at The Recyclery, Pedal Power’s Bike Library and SEE Change’s repair cafes.

These bike repair services will benefit the Canberra community by:

🚲 promoting active travel

🚲 developing participant skills that lengthen the lifespan of bikes

🚲 reducing waste to landfill

🚲 strengthening community engagement

🚲 creating a more climate-resilient Canberra.

The grant funding will also enable The Recyclery to open on Saturdays and to provide a service in Canberra’s Southside.

The ACT Government’s Community Zero Emissions Grants support projects that help reduce emissions and encourage climate-wise behaviours in the community – and we’re proud to be a part of it!
