Energy Saving for Renters with Lish Fejer

  • Canberra Environment Centre Gungaderra Homestead Harrison Australia (map)

Learn some simple hacks to save $$$ on your energy bill and stay comfortable in your home.

If you’re sick of paying through the nose for energy and still stinking hot in summer and freezing cold in winter, this workshop is for you.

Over 2 hours, you’ll learn some energy-saving hacks and get a few DIY skills to make your home comfortable and energy-efficient so you don’t have to fork out a fortune on your energy bill.

In the workshop:

- Draught-proofing to keep cool in summer and warm in winter

- Cheap fix-its and DIY for rentals.

- Energy-hungry habits to break (or at least try to modify)!

- Shopping around for a better energy deal

- The Biggest User (what’s using the most energy in your home) and how to use less.

- Big cash investments: solar, insulation, glazing, and what’s the best bang for your buck.

Lish Fejer rather fancies herself as an energy efficiency guru after attending a workshop exactly like this 30 years ago when she moved into her first rental. She then got a job on ABC TV as a Carbon Cop, showing people how to use less energy, and now makes short videos for her website GIY Green It Yourself on everything from energy saving to sustainability. Lish is also a brilliant presenter on ABC Canberra Radio.
